The 5th edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Port-au-Prince will open Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Parc Historique de la Canne à Sucre, in Tabarre, with a concert by the Brazilian singer Beatriz Malnic, followed by Aaron Goldberg, an excellent American pianist to close with a performance of Mino Cinelu, preceded by Carsten Daerr Trio and Pauline Jean on the same stage, on February 26.

A week of jazz and a lineup of choice to restart the festival after the cancellation of the previous edition ! Ayiti pi djanm ak jazz Haiti, stronger with the Jazz, is the theme chosen for this new edition. This year the festival has confirmed its international dimension with the participation of artists from many countries: Germany, France, Spain, United States, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Chile... and of course Haiti which will be represented by local talent and artists from the diaspora. During the day, training workshops and an introduction to jazz will target young Haitian musicians, while the "after hours" will last the music.

Placed under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, the Town Hall of Port-au-Prince, the Haitian American Institute, the French Institute of Haiti, the Foundation Knowledge and Liberty (FOKAL) and the Foundation Françoise Canez Auguste, the jazz festival is also supported by the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH), Prestige, Behold, the Latin Quarter restaurants and O'Brasileiro.
