Michel Martelly met with Mr. Carlos Westendorp, Secretary General of the Club of Madrid and Felipe Gonzalez (former Prime Minister of Spain) and Lionel Jospin (former Prime Minister of France), also members of the Club, this Tuesday February 15, at the Karibe Convention Center at 10h30am. This new mission of the Club of Madrid, which began yesterday is part of the initiative that leads the club with the financial support of the European Union in the process of reconstruction of Haiti.
On the sidelines of this meeting, the candidate will also meet at the Karibe, with the officials of the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC). The candidate will have a private meeting with former President Bill Clinton, co-president of IHRC, from 12pm to 12h45pm. Note that Bill Clinton will also have a private meeting with Mirlande Manigat.
Wednesday 16, the day before the official launch of the electoral campaign of the second round (February 17 to March 18, 2011), the candidate will visit the Dominican Republic following his visit on February 9. During this trip he will meet again with the President Leonel Fernández and Carlos Morales Troncoso, Minister of Foreign Affairs. This will be also an opportunity for the candidate to meet with several companies and social organizations in the Dominican Republic in the framework of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Michel Martelly should hold a press conference Wednesday, February 16 at 9h00am, at La Dolcerie located in Calle Rafael Augusto Sanchez #20 Ensanche Piantini (Santo Domingo). During this meeting, the candidate will explain the purpose of his visit and his campaign objectives and commitments of his government for the Haitian people [if he is elected President].
