The Office National d'Assurance vieillesse (ONA) that collects funds to ensure the retirement of workers and employees of private and public sectors, will invest $1.5 million in the construction of the OASIS hotel complex of group SCIOP S.A., ownership of Haitian investors alongside foreign partners, whose activities are devoted to the reconstruction of Haiti.
"The ONA is currently reviewing the project, we will make this investment that will be a good investment for our institution," said an official of the ONA.
The Oasis Hotel Complex already benefit from a contribution of $ 7.5 million from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), member of the World Bank, to resume work after the earthquake of January 2010. A financial contribution, which had allowed define objectives even more ambitious than those set before the earthquake.
This hotel complex of 20 million dollars, initiated more than 2 years ago by a group of Haitian businessmen, is located on the street Panaméricaine in Petion-ville (east of Port-au-Prince). Oasis Complex will accommodate one of the first new hotel built after the earthquake, 132 class rooms, a shopping mall, conference center, restaurants and a building for parking. A tangible symbol of the post-seism rebirth of Haiti, a source of jobs, a regional economic engine and a strong signal to foreign investors.
